About Me

I was born and raised in England and have been in love with teaching English ever since I graduated
from Swansea University. I am also a huge fan of Japan, it’s culture, and most of all, the people!
I’ve taught in Japan in various places such as Hiroshima, Saitama, and Tokyo. I especially enjoyed
teaching at Tokyo University of science, it was so interesting to compare Japanese universities with
my own when I was a student!

A large reason why I became an English teacher is because I want others to experience the same
enjoyment that I get from travelling and meeting other people.

Mastering a foreign language takes a lot of time and effort. I know this because it took me a long
time to learn how to speak Chinese and Japanese as my second and third languages. But I love
studying and teaching languages so much because it helps me connect with the people who are
now, just like my family!

Today, we talked about Eric's class reunion and how I have moved dozens of times, and from there, we talked about my background, getting a visa in Australia, and past relationships. Eric was very patient and kept track of all my mistakes and gave me a summary of them in the second half of the lesson. It is rare to find a teacher who is fun to talk to and corrects mistakes in detail, so Eric is very valuable to me. I look forward to working with him again in the future!
